Members of the Uttaranchal group based in Chennai started pouring in at around 7Pm and by 730pm we were in full strength. The arrangements were made in naval officer's mess by Mr Narender Prakash Chandola from Deptt of Atomic Energy. Around ten members attended the meet issues regarding uttraranchal group were discussed . The issues raised were the following . 1) Main issue was expanding the uttaranchal group network in south india. To help uttaranchal people in south india. And creating a "SOUTH UTTARANCHAL" in south india. 2) Creating a platform for cultural and social activities/events. Getting to Know each other and creating a homely environment in the chennai group. and Making group a" HOME AWAY FROM HOME ". 3) Students and bachelors stressed about celebrating festivals like diwali ,holi etc together to get a homely feel as this was the thing they were missing a lot in south india. 4) Making all garhwali and kumaoni people based in Chennai as also down south to know about the group and its activities and make efforts to bring them together. (TECHNICAL ISSUES DISCUSSED) 1) Organise a meet of all the moderators and unite all the uttaranchal groups under one group so as to synergize the the forces for developement of uttaranchal . 2) To legalize the group , once the number of members increase to around 100 and start funding for the group. Accordingly create a group of people who could share the responsibilities of managing the funds and the organisation. Once the core objective of the group towards the socio cultural welfare of the Uttaranchal takes off in the right direction, even the the government could be requested for some kind of support to help meet the objectives of the uttaranchal people. 3) The impact and importance of IT sector in the growth and development of a state and its people is well understood by all. Therefore IT employed uttaranchali people in south can guide and help other uttaranchal people based in south as well as in other parts of the country, by providing knowledge about IT sector and related activities
4) Start funding for cultural activities in chennai by the uttaranchal people in chennai. 5) creation of a subgroup named "SOUTH UTTARANCHAL" under the main group so that people of uttaranchal in south may know each other and interact on ground issues at Chennai while at the same time keep the main group informed of the happenings. 6) It was made clear that South Chennai/Uttararanchal group would just be a sub group of the main group and it would not mean creation of a different group. Therefore, the main /macro objectives of the group shall not be subjugated. The sub group shall also try to unite/coordinate the total activities of the group down south. This would mean frequent interaction and communication amongst members residing in Bangalore(Karnataka), Hyderabad(Andhra Pradesh) and Kochi(kerela). The reason being that considerable amount of growth in IT sector as also in the other industrial and educational sector is happening down south in these cities. The south Uttaranchal group by carefully understanding and monitoring the happenings out here could help garner these inputs in the overall growth and development of Uttaranchalis and there by making our contribution towards the national growth/interests as well
7) Creation of social, cultural, educational and technological information cell of the south Uttaranchal to meet the above objectives
SUMMARISING: This was the first meet of it's kind in chennai and was successful in all aspects,social as well as technical.I must say future results of this meet will be longlasting and very promising . Finally saying " SHAAM E UTTARANCHAL" was a hit . (Note - All members are requested to air their views on the above delibrations)
