I am from www.himadventures.net and in 2004 we come across a big scandal in Auli. Our team was with clients and we reached Auli via Kuari Pass.

We saw one young man in his 20's ( We did shoot a big picture of him which is with us ) who was carrying a WALKIE TALKIE set in his hands.

We were shown a board on which it was wrrtien that this area had been under NANDA DEVI SANCTUARY and we were supposed to pay a sanctuary fee. This sanctuary fee is per person/per tent and even include mules.

This guy asked us to visit his office in Joshimath first and then board our hotel. This makes us very angry and we could not show us his identity also.

We refused to pay and were shocked to see this guy who traced us too our hotel room and started asking for money.

Can anyone guide me/ inform me how I can reach to civil authorities in JOSHIMATH ?
